The Kenya Association of Manitoba (KAM) was established to unite Kenyans living in Manitoba, advance their common interests, and to ease the integration of newcomers to Manitoba. The association offers a structured approach to collectively share a communal spirit, bridge cultural understanding, support one another, and preserve the Kenyan cultural heritage from one generation to another. The association is governed by a constitution and its executive is elected yearly to facilitate effective communication, cooperation, and coordination. The community meets every quarter for celebrations and to deliberate on transformative ways to enhance member relations with the government of Manitoba and the federal government of Canada. Currently, the association is running youth sporting activities and is engaged in discussions to seek government funding for capacity-building projects within the community.
